Bio

A bit about me:

I am an actress/director/producer/animal lover and mom. My passion is telling stories. I’m always interested to see what happens next.

I am probably best recognized for my role in Bob Fosse’s Oscar-winning film, All That Jazz. You’ve seen me on TV in Mad Men, Scandal, ER, Grey’s Anatomy, Monk, and Criminal Minds, among others… and in films such as Living Out Loud, Infestation, and Exterminator 2.

I’ve loved acting ever since the age of five when I filled in for a little boy who got the measles on opening night of the Caucasian Chalk Circle. I got to say lines, fence with boys and eat cookies on stage. And at the end everyone applauded for me! (What could be better?!) Later engagements included two and a half years on Broadway in the original run of A Chorus Line, the Broadway revival of Pal Joey and Accomplice at the Pasadena Playhouse.

While in New York, I studied at Juilliard, at HB Studios and with great teachers like Larry Moss, and Sam Schacht, then in Los Angeles with Peggy Feury, Peter Flood, The Groundlings, and currently the wonderful Richard Seyd. Soon after moving to LA, I was cast as a series regular in the pilot Century Hill and in the TV-movie Legs (1983) where I starred as a Radio City Music Hall Rockette in Manhattan with one of my idols Gwen Verdon.  It was there, on the day after Valentine’s Day, that my boyfriend flew to New York and proposed to me in the middle of the Brooklyn Bridge after a snowstorm. Happily, we are still married.

After a break to raise two bizarre, sweet and fascinating daughters, I returned to acting full time and also started writing, directing, and producing. I find directing to be very relaxing. After living with teenagers, it’s refreshing to have people actually listen to me.

I’ve written, directed and produced three award-winning short films to date, and directed three plays which got rave reviews. The most recent was chosen for Best Of Fringe in the Hollywood Fringe Festival.

The most delightful thing about my journey has been the weird and wonderful people I’ve been blessed to meet and work with. I’m looking forward to telling more stories and meeting new inspiring, funny, talented people – maybe you!

P.S. – I also moonlight as a headshot photographer.
